All of my writing is presented in PDF format. It's the most common format around and the easiest to use. If you haven't got a PDF reader, you can get a free one from Adobe.
I have written a short description of each article to help you decide if you want to read it in full. Where its useful, I've added the first few lines of the piece to give you a taster of what is to come.
To read any of the pieces in full click the word 'more....' at the end of the introduction.
This is a simple guide to maintaining your PC and protecting it whilst online. It's aimed at the novice and assumes only that you know what a computer is.
"PCs, like all things mechanical and electrical, will suffer problems over time. But if you take care of your PC, it will last longer and give you fewer problems during it?s lifetime.
The aim of this guide is to talk you through the simple things that you can do to keep your PC running smoothly and (almost) as fast as the day you first switched it on.
Some jobs may involve third-party software that is easy to use and where this is necessary I will explain what you need to do."
More.....This is a piece that was published in the December 2006/January 2007 issue of The Plain Truth magazine. The article explores the reasons why we imagine God to be similar to the unreliable humans around us.
"I've been on the dole for just over a year and have come to know what it's like to be utterly dependent on something, or someone, else for my basic needs.
If I don't give the right information when asked, or fill in the right forms in the right way, I could lose it all. It is a worrying position to be in. Recently, benefit cheques didn't arrive, the result of which is I was unable to pay bills without running up an overdraft.
In that moment I realised how dependent I am on others. Without the money they supply I cannot buy food, pay the rent or the utility bills. I don't have control on what money comes in or when. I'm in a state of total dependency until I can find a way out."
More.....Throughout 2009 I reviwed several books and films for 'Hub Magazine'. You can read them, and the magazine online.
